Attraverso Stampe is a space dedicated to traditional darkroom hand-printing from black & white and colour film. Founded in 2024 by Marco Traverso.
Having collaborated with different printers and labs in and around Italy. In 2023 he moved to Paris to assist master printer Diamantino Quintas in his atelier, where he refined his darkroom ability working on artists archive such as Agnès Varda; Atelier Robert Doisneau; Foundation James Barnor; Foundation Gilles Caron; Vivian Maier, and more contemporary artists and fashion photographers working today.
His dedication to the darkroom has always been essential to his process and archive. This artisanal craft, while increasingly challenging to master, remains cardinal to those who thoroughly value their artwork.
Film photography is honest, an authentic manifestation of feelings, an organic and visceral relationship between the image captured in time, a stubborn expression of the spirit and its medium, the camera.
The process culminates with a traditional hand print which is inherently unique, even when reproduced in multiple copies because the human touch, imperfect yet harmonious, imbues it with significance and soul. These subtle imperfections become the distinctive signature of the artwork. In a world that often trends towards uniformity, there is no greater satisfaction than crafting a one-of-a-kind tangible print.
Traditional hand print from film offers a distinct quality known for its depth of light and richness in volume both in black and white and colour.
All processes are exclusively performed by hand, from development to the final print, without the aid of automation.
Sharing his experience with artists, authors and enthusiasts with a collaborative-based approach, the ultimate rendering of the artwork produced is thus achieved through a mutual agreement and authorial intent.
Whether you are on your first roll of film or you are an experienced professional, you are welcome to submit any project proposals.
